Understanding and Overcoming Depression Together

Depression is a common but serious mood disorder that causes persistent feelings of sadness and a lack of interest in daily activities. It can affect how you feel, think, and handle daily activities, such as sleeping, eating, or working. At Inclusive Psychiatry LLC, we are committed to helping individuals understand, manage, and overcome depression through comprehensive and personalized treatment plans.

What is Depression?

Depression goes beyond just feeling sad or going through a rough patch; it’s a serious mental health condition that requires understanding and medical care. It can be debilitating, affecting your ability to work, study, eat, sleep, and enjoy life. The feelings of helplessness, hopelessness, and worthlessness are intense and unrelenting, with little, if any, relief.

Symptoms of Depression

Depression symptoms can vary from mild to severe and can include:

  • Persistent sad, anxious, or “empty” mood
  • Feelings of hopelessness or pessimism
  • Irritability
  • Feelings of guilt, worthlessness, or helplessness
  • Loss of interest or pleasure in hobbies and activities
  • Decreased energy or fatigue
  • Moving or talking more slowly
  • Difficulty concentrating, remembering, or making decisions
  • Changes in appetite and weight
  • Thoughts of death or suicide, or suicide attempts
  • Aches or pains, headaches, cramps, or digestive problems without a clear physical cause and/or that do not ease even with treatment

  • Continuous monitoring and adjustment of the treatment plan as needed

Evidence-Based Therapies

We utilize a variety of evidence-based therapies to treat depression, including:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which helps patients identify and change negative thinking and behaviors
  • Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), which focuses on improving relationships that may be contributing to the depression
  • Medication management to address biochemical imbalances that may be contributing to depression
